Hip fracture surgery: decrease in time to surgery

In a nutshell:  This pilot study investigated the feasibility of comparing accelerated care (i.e. rapid clearance and surgery) to standard care.  The researchers found that 30% of patients in the accelerated care group had complications after 30-day follow-up compared with 47% of patients in the standard care group.  They are now developing an amended protocol for a full trial
