Tissue discarded in hip replacements source of stem cells

In a nutshell: Australian researchers have found what might prove to be a rich new source of adult stem cells for use in regenerative medicine from the tissue normally discarded during routine hip replacement surgery.  This work should give opportunities for the treatment of disease and tissue/organ failure in older osteoarthritic patients.
