HRT lessened risk for repeat knee or hip replacement surgery

In a nutshell:  Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) taken for 6 months after a total knee arthroplasty or total hip arthroplasty, was associated with approximately 40% reductions in repeat surgeries, according to data derived from a population-based retrospective cohort study.  These findings require replication in external cohorts and experimental studies before having any implementation for clinical practice
