In a nutshell: An international working group of orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists, GPs, physiotherapists and patients reviewed the existing literature and practices for assessing outcomes of osteoarthritis therapies. The group has defined a standard set of outcome measures to evaluate joint pain, quality of life, readmissions and patient satisfaction. When combined with cost data, these measures should facilitate value-based healthcare improvements in the treatment of hip and knee osteoarthritis.
