In a nutshell: The Kneetrainer 1 is a new simulator model which consists of a type of thermo-retractile, thermo-sensitive synthetic rubber. Its texture, colour, consistency, and mechanical resistance mimic many human tissues. The simulator was tested by 17 expert surgeons who performed arthroscopy, meniscectomy and reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament. The simulator was considered to be suitable for novice surgeons.
