In a nutshell:  the purpose of this study was to measure the time taken to perform particular activities in the operating room and to calculate the cost per minute to perform each activity using 15 individual activities carried out by orthopaedic trainees during total hip and knee replacement surgery.  Looked at how best to improve efficiency in the operating theatre by suggesting how certain tasks can be safely performed simultaneously with others.
